To power up and start using your Ledger device, follow these steps:

Powering Up Your Ledger Device

  1. Unboxing: Open your Ledger package and ensure all components are present:

    • Ledger hardware wallet device

    • USB cable

    • Recovery sheet (for writing down your recovery phrase)

    • Instruction manual

  2. Connecting Your Ledger Device:

    • Use the provided USB cable to connect your Ledger device to a USB port on your computer or a compatible power adapter.

  3. Power On Your Ledger Device:

Initializing Your Ledger Device

    • Write Down Your Recovery Phrase: During setup, your Ledger device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase. Write down these words in the exact order provided. This recovery phrase is essential for restoring access to your wallet if your Ledger device is lost, stolen, or damaged.

  2. Confirming Your Recovery Phrase:

    • After writing down your recovery phrase, confirm it by entering a few of the words as prompted by the Ledger device.

  3. Installing Ledger Live:

    • Visit ledger.com/start or ledger.com/live to download and install Ledger Live, the official desktop application for managing your Ledger device.

  4. Connecting Ledger Live:

    • Launch Ledger Live on your computer and follow the prompts to connect your Ledger device via USB cable.

  5. Adding Accounts:

    • In Ledger Live, add accounts for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage using your Ledger device. Install the corresponding apps on your Ledger device through Ledger Live.
